Mauri's 40th

     As most of you know, Mauri celebrated his 40th birthday this year. Unfortunately, he only had Alex and I to celebrate with, since our friends and family are so far away. So, we decided to surprise him by asking these friends and family to send him birthday wishes through cards or online messages and videos with which we would make a commemorative video.  We had a wonderful response and somehow managed to keep it all a secret until the special day. We prepared some of Mauri's favourite foods along with a Skor(Daim) bar triffle for dessert and then sat him on the couch to watch and open all the lovely messages that he had received. 

     Thanks to all of you who responded.  Those of you who sent messages early on were incorporated into this video that Alex and I created for the occasion.

Message from Mauri:

     Well, days turn to weeks and weeks turn to months.  And now that I've been 40 for a few months now, I still am touched by all of the kind greetings that everyone sent for my birthday.  It reminds me that I have so many wonderful people in my life.  So I thank you humbly for sending all those birthday greetings.  And thank you for reminding me that I am surrounded by so many amazing people.
