I just wanted to write a quick note about
this and post some pics. Since this part
of France has also been part of Germany, there are many things that they have
in common but the ChristKindlMarkt (market of the Christ Child) is one of the
most famous. They start at the beginning
of Advent and usually run until Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve. You can find
larger markets in the major cities but you can also find more cozy ones in
smaller villages. They are filled with all kinds of gifts, food and of course
mulled wine or a non-alcoholic spiced
apple juice and surrounded by lots of lights and beautiful decorations. A real
wonder!
